After giving up the first goal of the game the US fought back to tie the game before halftime, and then added a pair in the 2nd half to complete a 3-1 victory over a very inexperienced Denmark team.
Landon Donovan scored his frist goal in over 18 games with a poorly struck penalty that should have been saved, but it counts when it hits the back of the net, and it was enough to send the teams into the locker room at halftime with a 1-1 tie. In the second half Justin Mapp, a halftime sub, made a great run all the way down the right wing, broke thru 2 defenders and from the end line sent a beautiful pass into Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA) who game the US the lead in his very first cap for the US. Later in the 2nd half Kenny Cooper (FC Dallas) came on to get his first cap and went on to score the 3rd US goal.
This is a great start for Bob Bradley as the temporary coach, it will be what I beleive one step towards him getting that coaching spot full time.
