However, based on the Officisl MLS History (http://web.mlsnet.com/history/archive.jsp?year=1996&content=results),before the San Jose game on 1996-07-17, Colorado have actually met Kansas City on 1996-07-10 and lost 2-0. Therefore KC should be the new champ by then, rather than San Jose... Hence KC have indeed won its first title in 1996, rather than 1997 as seen in the KC's spreadsheet.
