Unofficial MLS Club Championship

Tonite I came across a fun website.  It is the Unofficial MLS Club Championship website.

The idea is simple.  The winner of the first ever MLS game is the champion.  They hold the title until they lose a regular season regulation time game.  If a game ends in a tie, the current champions remain champions.

It appears that the current champions are Toronto FC and the Houston Dynamo are next in line for a title shot.

So being a Wizards fan I went ahead and created the all time results that the Wizards have had in UMLSCC games.  Click the link below to view a spreadsheet with all the Wizards results.

The Wizards have won the title 7 different times and are 25-29 in title games all time.

Hi there, I just noticed some mistakes with the history of Kansas City in UMLSCC posted here, maybe you can confirm if this is indeed an error:

Based on the UMLSCC Blog (http://umlscc.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html), when Colorado won the title on 1996-06-30, it lost the title to San Jose on 1996-07-17.

However, based on the Officisl MLS History (http://web.mlsnet.com/history/archive.jsp?year=1996&content=results),before the San Jose game on 1996-07-17, Colorado have actually met Kansas City on 1996-07-10 and lost 2-0. Therefore KC should be the new champ by then, rather than San Jose…

Hence KC have indeed won its first title in 1996, rather than 1997 as seen in the KC’s spreadsheet.

A similar comment is posted on the UMLSCC Blog as well at: https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26416194&postID=114538753455418707

Maybe you can drop me an email at henryo-at-gmail-dot-com for more discussions, thanks!
