Certainly you’ve heard about the MLS partnership with the German Bundesliga by now. They have some sort of marketing knowledge agreement. They will share information with each other, such items like stadium development and lighting, recognizing youth talent, dealing with salary caps, television marketing, and other such things.
I am not doubting this will be a good thing for MLS but I at first thought had this image popped into my mind:
German and American officials get together, Americans tell Germans about how most of the Beckham Galaxy games are selling out. The Germans laugh, clink their beer mugs together and explain that they don’t have enough tickets for any games.
I do seriously think it will be a good deal for MLS though. I’m just not sure why.
