I have a really hard time beleiving this could even be close to true, but it keeps coming up. I haven’t actually heardLalas talking about Zidane, but they claim it happened. Aparently they are talking about brining Zidane to the Galaxy.
Here is a quote from VitalFootball.co.uk attributed to the Alexi Lalas in the Times:

‘He’s a great player and he doesn’t want to sit in the French countryside drinking wine.”
I couldn’t imagine much better than playing professional soccer, but sitting in the French countryside drinking wine doesn’t sounds so bad. What do you think, is this even close to a possibility, or is someone just dreaming?

Yesterday Zinedine Zidane was asked at a New York Knicks game about MLS trying to get him to come out of retirement and to play in the US. “No comment” was his response.
Chicago seemed to fail at luring Zidane to Major League Soccer, but maybe the Red Bulls are doing a better job. Is a no-comment some type of admission to something might be happening?
The Red Bulls do want to use up their other over the salary cap “David Beckham” allotment after trading. Could it be possible to see Zidane playing for Bruce Area in New York?

Playing for Real Madrid of course. In case there are any MLS fans that don’t know about much outside the US, this is the team that David Beckham is coming from, one of the biggest clubs in the world.
So why am I writing about Zidane on the MLS Fan Blog? Cause we’ve got over 2 months until the start of the season and it was just too weird to pass up on.
Aparently Zidane is the subject of some move/documentary thing that I now really want to see. Sounds kinda weird, just enough to crank my interest. I doubt it will be easy to find, so if anyone knows where I can get my hands on that, let me know.
