I correctly predicted that the 4th seed Chicago Fire took out overall league leaders DC United.
I also predicted that the 5th place (East) Kansas City Wizards would defeat 1st place [...]

Well the Galaxy run came to an end and the Wizards didn’t drop out of the playoffs on their last game day like expected. Here is a look at the upcoming playoff schedule. I’m glad to see they are still going to have Thursday nite games on ESPN2! All times CST.

The New England Revolution got goals from Pat Noonan, Taylor Twellman and Wells Thompson to top FC Dallas in tonite’s US Open Cup. FC Dallas scored goals by Arturo Alvarez and Abe Thompson.
This is the first major trophy for the New England Revolution. They have been runners up in both the US Open Cup and [...]

DC United, New England Revolution, Chivas USA and defending champions Houston Dynamo have all claimed their playoff spots.
As the table stands right now the wildcards would be FC Dallas, New York Red Bulls, Kansas City Wizards and the Chicago Fire.
The Columbus Crew are only 1 point behind the Chicago Fire for the last spot, and [...]

First the New England Revolution needed an extra time goal before they ended the run of the Carolina RailHawks with a 2-1 score. Later FC Dallas took the Seattle Sounders to overtime before also winning 2-1.
The New England Revolution [...]

I couldn’t have been more wrong on my Thursday Prediction just hours ago.
First of all as Mr. Fish pointed out, tonite’s game was actually not on ESPN2 for some reason, so I didn’t see the game. Thanks for the correction Mr. Fish.
Secondly, the Rapids put a whooping on the Revolution. Who (besides Rapids fans) would [...]

Prediction Thursday has been missing for quite a while. Frequent blogging has been kinda something of the past as well. I hope to pick up the pace on both of them in the future.

There you have it. New England is the class of the league, Colorado is in the slums. [...]
I missed out on quite a bit of action recently by going camping, then a long work trip and finally getting really sick. A lot has happened in the US Open Cup.
The New England Revolution will play the Harrisburg City Islanders tonite in the last quarterfinal to be settled. One of the top MLS teams [...]
Two more lower league teams dropped two more MLS teams out of the US Open Cup. The Seattle Sounders beat Chivas USA 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals and will eventually face the Colorado Rapids. The Carolina RailHawks beat Chicago Fire 1-0 and will go on to face the Richmond Kickers in the quarterfinals.
Major League [...]
