The MLS announced some changes that will take place this year. This “Game First” initiative is suppose to improve the quality, authenticity, and excitement of on field action. Here are a couple of the interesting ones:
The MLS now has a full time scout in South Amercian and they have started a world-wide player [...]
I don’t talk much about foreign leagues here, but I was watching Jay DeMerit and Watford playing defending EPL champs Chelsea this morning. It was my first view of Jay DeMerit outside of his recent US MNT cap. DeMerit looked really good and at the 90th minute he and his team had shut out the [...]
By 2010 there is expected to be 16 teams in Major League Soccer, so if you can do simple math, thats an addition of 3 teams in 3 years. That is exciting news for me, first because I’m a fan of MLS and I want to see the league grow and expand. Secondly it is [...]

Sometime last week I read an article somewhere about the format of the MLS season and playoffs and how the MLS Cup is required to keep the interest of the American fans and the US Open Cup is meaningless. I fully disagree.
I would love to see the division of east and west teams go away. [...]

Aparently this should be a huge TV draw, according to an ESPNsoccernet article, they Galaxy will be televised nationally in 16 of their last 17 regular season games. I [...]
