Ok, this is not MLS related at all, but unless you count the tons of people who only now realize that Beckham’s salary isn’t $250,000,000, but most of that is to come from endorsements news, then there isn’t a whole lot goin on right now. It never was a secret people….
Anyway, go check out ThroughBall.com, one of the better soccer related blogs that I read, to see what happened to John Terry this weekend.

According to Fulham’s official site Clint Dempsey has made it onto the roster and it looks like he’s got #23 (my old number!). Here is the profile text listed for Clint on the Fulham site:
One of the most dynamic talents to come out of the US game, Dempsey is renowned for his creative attacking instincts and bravery in the air. The 23-year-old Texan scored seven goals in his first season with New England Revolution and was named ‘MLS Rookie of the Year’ for 2004.
In his second season he scored 10 goals and recorded nine assists. He also played against Fulham in the MLS All-Star game, setting up the winning goal.
He was named the Honda Player of the Year for 2006, beating competition from Kasey Keller and Brian McBride in a poll of sportswriters. During the World Cup in 2006, Dempsey started two of the three US games and scored the team’s only goal in the tournament.
I didn’t see OO on the roster yet, but hopefully he gets there too. I can’t wait to see the day the Fulham rips through Chelsea with 4 americans in the starting line up! Maybe its a dream, but it could happen! I wonder when Clint’s first cap will be.
It is cold enough in my home town that I took the Fulham scarf off the wall and will start sporting Fulham rather than Manchester United now!

Is is okay for me to write about the EPL during the off season? Well during the winter I have to watch the EPL games as much as I can. Today it was Sheffield United vs Arsenal. With a good chunk of the 2nd half remaining in the game the Sheffield Utd keeper got hurt which usually isn’t a big deal, they sub him out for a new keeper. Aparently not Sheffield United. The announcers said they rarely have a keeper in their available subs, so they have a field player take the gray jersey and go in goal. He did pretty good and preserved the shut out and the one nil victory over Arsenal!
