Chivas Take Top Spot In West

Chivas take a 3-0 victory over the LA Galaxy tonite to move into first place in the west.

At times the Galaxy made it look like a game.  They had chances but just couldn’t finish them.

Ante Razov moved one goal closer to Jamie Moreno and his MLS career goal tally as he notched the game winning goal in the first half. That was enough to get him the man of the match award.

I wondered why the announcers thought David Beckham was really dedicated to the team.  Was it really because he came to the game, just like the rest of the injured Galaxy players do?  They almost didn’t have room to get all the injured Galaxy players into the stadium.

I was so close to my Chivas 2-0 prediction.  Oh well, I still got the result right, and wasn’t far off on the score.

How far can Chivas USA go this year?  Who is going to stop them?

Jamie Moreno Breaks Career Goal Record

Jamie MorenoLast night Jamie Moreno scored his 109th career MLS goal as DC United took down the New York Red Bulls 3-1. This moved him past current Real Salt Lake head coach Jason Kries for the most career MLS goals. Ante Razov is up there over the 100 mark and either of these guys could add a lot more to that total.

Who do you think will retire with the goal scoring crown, and how high will that tally be by that time?

Goal of the Week: Sacha Kljestan – Chivas USA

I finally got around to voting for the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week tonight. There wasn’t anything spectacular to vote for, but it seemed clear to me that Sacha Kljestan deserves the goal of the week, and aparently most of you agree, he had 49% of the votes. That brings me to my next thought: Chivas USA. I know they at home and up against an expansion team, but they were still the most impressive team in my opinion.

Maykel Galindo looked like he’s going to cause a lot of problems for defenses this year. With him and Ante Razov they could be a deadly strike force. I hate to admit it cause I don’t like the guy, but toss Guevara in there with those two and it gets even more dangerous. On top of that Brad Guzan looked like you’d have to be crazy to not keep him in the net. I’ve got a feeling about that team this year, I wish I was a Chivas fan, cuase I think things could be really good for you if you are a Chivas fan this year.

Of course we haven’t seen the Wizards play yet. Maybe they’ll be more impressive. Or maybe not.
