The Los Angeles Galaxy traveled to DC to play DC United last night.  Steve McClaren was there, David Beckham was there, ESPN probably had at least one extra camera there and a lot of DC United fans were there.  The game was sold out at over 40,000 (don’t know the exact number and it isn’t important) DC United fans.  Well a lot of them may have been Beckham fans; I don’t think just the Galaxy draw that big a crowd in DC and DC United sure don’t.

Well on to to the game.  The Galaxy were held scoreless, Beckhame played 21 or so minutes at the end of the game and DC United did get a goal.  That makes for a 1-0 DC United win in Beckhams MLS debut.

But here is the best part of the story, some of the DC fans really wanted to make Beckham feel welcome.  Check out the banner that was placed probably by one of the DC fan groups (Barra Brava?)!
