Is is okay for me to write about the EPL during the off season? Well during the winter I have to watch the EPL games as much as I can. Today it was Sheffield United vs Arsenal. With a good chunk of the 2nd half remaining in the game the Sheffield Utd keeper got hurt which usually isn’t a big deal, they sub him out for a new keeper. Aparently not Sheffield United. The announcers said they rarely have a keeper in their available subs, so they have a field player take the gray jersey and go in goal. He did pretty good and preserved the shut out and the one nil victory over Arsenal!

The rumors just won’t stop. Is Beckham done at Real Madrid, is he coming to play for the LA Galaxy, will he play for England again? Well this is just my take on it. Keep in mind I don’t know Beckham or even anyone that does, and I am in no way qualified to tell you what is likely to happen, other than just being a fan an interested myself.
Beckham will come to play for the Galaxy in the MLS. It may not be this year or even next, but I would be within 3 years he’ll be in LA. I don’t have any reasons to beleive this, but I don’t have any reason to think that it couldn’t happen. The MLS named a rule change after Beckham that allows teams to go over any salary cap. Thats reason enough for me!
It would be very interesting to see how he would impact the Galaxy, and also how the American media would treat him. I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

I don’t understand what is goin on with Nate Jaqua. First the Fire let Torornt get their hands on him in the expansion draft, and then Toronto send him off to the Galaxy. I would think any MLS team would love to have Nate Jaqua starting up front for them. Am I just overrating him?
Joe Cannon and Nate Jaqua are gonna take the Galaxy back to the playoffs.

Well it is now clear what the Galaxy had planned when they picked up Joe Cannon. They just traded Kevin Hartman to the Kansas City Wizards. That is exciting news for a Wizards fan. I’m just gonna go ahead and say that the Wizards will get back to the playoffs next season with the addition of Hartman, and probably eventually another MLS Championship!

One of the most important men to American soccer passed away today. If there was no Lamar Hunt, there may be no MLS today. Thank you for everything you’ve done for American soccer Lamar!

Earlier this week Freddy Adu and Nick Rimando were sent to Real Salt Lake in exchange for a major player allocation along with the right to goalkeeper Jay Nolly.
Great trade for Salt Lake was my initial reaction to reading this. Freddy Adu impressed me really for the first time this season, he could be something special in a few years but it is no secret that he wants to play in Europe. Nick Rimando would fit in good anywhere. I don’t know who Jay Nolly is but someday maybe we’ll see him playing in the all star game, shutting out Real Madrid or something like that.
It will be interesting to see how long Adu sticks around Salt Lake.

The Galaxy traded Hercules Gomez to Colorado for Joe Cannon. There was a little bit more involved in the trade, but these are the two that surprised me. I can’t imagine either Hartman or Cannon sitting on the bench, so I wonder whats goin on in LA. Are they getting rid of Hartman, or want to trade Cannon off to someone else? Anyone know what the plan in LA is?
